My journey into motherhood was raw, real and deeply transformative. After giving birth in 2021, I found myself in a postpartum season that looked nothing like I had expected. There was little space to process birth trauma and the early weeks were poorly prepared for with an unexpected stay in hospital. My needs were sidelined in favour of “what was easiest” and my intuition quieted even when I knew something wasn’t right with my son.

The exhaustion, overwhelm and isolation were heavier than I could have imagined. And despite the abundance of advice available, nothing truly supported the depth of what I was experiencing.

For two years, I struggled to reconnect with my body, reclaim my energy and find my sense of self again. I felt depleted, unseen and unsure where to turn because I was certain it wasn’t suppose to be like this. During this time, I left a 12-year career and sat in a space of profound vulnerability. One that ultimately revealed my calling.

Ayurveda came to me like a lifeline. Its gentle, time-tested wisdom showed me that postpartum isn’t something to survive but a sacred season meant to be held, nourished, and deeply supported. It gave language to what my body had been asking for all along and offered tools I didn’t know how to name at the time. Slowly, I began to heal from the inside out.

In a world of quick fixes and surface-level solutions, Ayurveda offers a way back to the body, to intuition and to inner authority. Not as rigid rules, but as wisdom that can be translated into modern life, whether you have a village or not.
